MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE - WAY: 'EMO IS GARBAGE'
MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE frontman GERARD WAY hates his band's categorisation as 'emo' - and has branded the genre "f**king garbage".
The singer insists the group's sound differs greatly from bands who are classed as emo - emotional hardcore rock music - and has urged critics to compare emo and My Chemical Romance side by side to see the difference.
He says, "Emo's a pile of s**t, f**king garbage. There are bands we get lumped in with that are considered emo and by default, that starts to make us emo.
"All I can say to anyone actually putting the records next to each other and listening to them (is) - there are no similarities."

Personally it sounds like Gerard was talking out of anger to me (at least I
hope he was). I mean, a lot of MCR fans are 'emos' and although he was talking
about emo musically, he still may have offended some people which makes me
think that he didn't really think about what he was saying. I agree that MCR
aren't emo, and I don't like it when people call them emo, but I think that it
was kinda out of order for him to say that.

i love gerard way and mcr im emo and feel sooo wrong for being me because of
what he said i dont want to be me anymore i hope he didnt mean wat he said
because i love the band and gerard and hope they theythink about what hes said
and who es hurt his fans im guna cry now so bye!!!!!!!!!!
