JULIE WALTERS - WALTERS FOLLOWS MCKELLEN'S FOOTSTEPS

Veteran British actress JULIE WALTERS wants to follow in the footsteps of fellow actor SIR IAN MCKELLEN and appear in a TV drama. The BILLY ELLIOT star was impressed when MCKellen enjoyed a stint playing a charming baddie in British soap opera CORONATION STREET - and now she wants to appear on the same show as the THE LORD OF THE RINGS star. Walters says, "I watch Coronation Street and EASTENDERS. I'd love to appear on Corrie as a rough old biddy who gives everyone a hard time."
