KATE WALSH - WALSH DEFENDS HEWITT OVER BIKINI CONTROVERSY

GREY'S ANATOMY star KATE WALSH has applauded JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT for hitting out at the media for criticising recent bikini photographs that showed her in a less than flattering light. Hewitt was snapped in her black two-piece swimsuit last week (ends30Nov07) as she enjoyed a dip in the sea - but the Ghost Whisperer star's larger-than-usual bottom soon became the subject of ridicule on many celebrity blogs. Hewitt then posted a message on her website saying she is content with her figure, but is unhappy that comments on her weight will put young girls under more pressure to diet. And Walsh, who was photographed wearing a bikini while relaxing with her new husband on Thanksgiving Day (22Nov07), has defended Hewitt's right to sunbathe without having to worry about tabloid criticism of her physique. Walsh says, "She's a person and she's not being lit in a studio and made up, or airbrushed, or wardrobed, and it's not a fat thing - you're on a beach and you're on vacation."
