Superproducer BUTCH VIG is using his break from rockers GARBAGE to take charge of the controls for GREEN DAY.
The legendary producer behind classic albums by Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins is working on Green Day's follow up to American Idiot, according to Garbage singer Shirley Manson.
Claiming she knows nothing about plans to bounce back from the group's "indefinite hiatus" to record a new album, Manson says, "We're sort of doing our different things. I'm doing the TV show, Butch is producing Green Day, so he's busy, so we'll see."
