VERVE DISPEL RIFT RUMOURS WITH UNITED SHOW

LATEST: Reunited British rockers THE VERVE hit back at reports of a rift within the band - by playing a sensational headlining set to close a U.K. music festival.
Last week (Beg11Aug08), the group dismissed claims their guitarist Nick MCCabe was hospitalised following an appearance at the Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo, Japan.
Online reports suggested the star had flown back to the U.K., throwing the rest of their live dates this month (Aug08) into jeopardy - including Britain's V Festival at the weekend (16/17Aug08).
However, the band were keen to dispel the rumours, insisting MCCabe had simply cut his finger.
And they proved they were united, as they stepped on stage at the event on Sunday (17Aug08) and thrilled thousands of fans throughout the gig.
And The Verve's frontman, Richard Ashcroft, ensured revellers knew there were no tensions within the group - by making a point of thanking all his bandmates on stage.
