TWILIGHT SEQUEL PLANS TAKE SHAPE
CATHERINE HARDWICKE is in talks to follow-up her record-breaking TWILIGHT movie by directing the sequel NEW MOON.
The filmmaker scored the biggest debut ever for a female director when the vampire love story shot to number one in the U.S. on Sunday (23Nov08), and she's keen to get cracking on the sequel - so her young cast doesn't change beyond recognition.
She tells USA Today newspaper, "(Twilight star Taylor Lautner) told me the other day that he had gained 14 pounds since I last saw him. He's only 16."
The sequel has already been greenlit by executives at Summit Entertainment and the New Moon script is already completed.
Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will reportedly earn $12 million (GBP8 million) each for the sequel.
