TV BOSSES WANT HAWKING IN CELEB BB HOUSE

Producers at Celebrity Big Brother have apparently made an audacious bid to tempt renowned physics professor Stephen Hawking to become a contestant on the show next year.

But the 64-year-old is almost certain to turn down the offer, according to a friend quoted in the Sun.

"When Stephen heard, a big grin spread across his face. He thought it was very funny," the source said.

The wheelchair-bound author of A Brief History of Time is not adverse to appearing on popular TV shows however, and is well known for his razor sharp wit, twice appearing as himself on the Simpsons while also guesting on daytime TV's Richard and Judy.

"He gets wacky offers all the time and is always turning stuff down. He has a good sense of humour and might find being in the house amusing for a bit. But he would end up bored rigid," the friend added to the Sun.

Celeb BB starts next month, with the tabloid claiming that TV bosses are lining up a roster of housemates including Jeffrey Archer, Adam Ant and David Hasselhoff. Suddenly Professor Hawking's decision becomes clearer...
