SPIDER MAN - TRANSFORMERS NO MATCH FOR SPIDEY

Spider-Man 3 brought Transformers crashing down from the top of the DVD charts for the week that ended November 4. However, some retailers noted that in its first week, Transformers, which had held the top spot for the previous two weeks, sold more units than the latest Spider-Man did. Spidey also replaced the robot/humans on Home Media magazine's rental chart, with estimated revenue of $9.7 million versus about $7 million for Transformers.

CORRECTION:
In Wednesday's edition of Studio Briefing we erroneously reported that Southland Tales screened at the Cannes Film Festival last May. It screened at Cannes in May 2006.
