PRETTY WOMAN - TOUGH GUY CAMPANELLA DEAD

TV and movie tough guy FRANK CAMPANELLA has died at his home in the San Fernando Valley, California on Saturday (30DEC06). He was 87. The actor played villains and mean guys in more than 100 movies and TV shows, including DICK TRACY, PRETTY WOMAN, BEACHES, THE FALL GUY and THE ROCKFORD FILES. The hulking star also made a name for himself on Broadway in plays like STALAG 17 and THE DEADLY GAME. He also trained ROBERT DE NIRO to speak authentic Sicilian in THE GODFATHER PART II and helped subtitle the film classic. The son of a bandleader, Campanella trained as a concert pianist.
