RICKY TOMLINSON - TOMLINSON FIGHTS TO CLEAR NAME

British actor RICKY TOMLINSON is fighting to clear his name - 35 years after he was jailed for intimidation.
The 67-year-old, who has starred in movies including RAINING STONES and ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE MIDLANDS but is best known for BBC TV show THE ROYLE FAMILY, was sentenced to two years imprisonment for his involvement in the 1972 national builder's strike in the UK.
Tomlinson was found guilty of being a part of the "intimidation and affray" that surrounded the strike, but he has now called for his criminal record to be reinvestigated.
He says, "It's about time people knew the truth. The law we were all prosecuted under is so old and archaic it doesn't even appear on the statute books any more.
"We are calling for a public inquiry because we want people to know what we all went through - and to clear our names."
