THERON MISSED OUT ON MAIN PART IN BOYFRIEND'S MOVIE

Oscar winner CHARLIZE THERON was desperate for the lead role in her boyfriend STUART TOWNSEND's directorial debut BATTLE IN SEATTLE - but he turned her down.
The Monster star had to settle for a minor role in the movie account of the 1999 political uprising in Seattle, Washington - with the part she craved going to Michelle Rodriguez.
Theron says, "I asked to play that role."
But the South African-born star was happy to settle for a bit part - because she also got to be the first person to read Townsend's script.
She adds, "He gave me the script to read first, which is always nerve wracking because this is where the relationship could end.
"The good thing is it was amazing."
