THE YOUNG KNIVES 'PLANNING BOOK'

THE YOUNG KNIVES are working on a book which chronicles the "circus" of being in a touring band.

According to the Oxford outfit, it will be a history of bands on the road, with some of their own experiences thrown in – although it's probably fair to say that it won't have that much in common with MOTLEY CRUE'S infamous biography The Dirt.

Frontman Henry Dartnall said they are trying to cover the experience from the perspective of various types of people such as roadies, rather than just those in bands.

"People kinda slip into it and they run away for two years of their life and they’re on the road with a band and it strikes me as being pretty weird," he told BBC 6 Music.

He added that being on the road is a world away from the "normal job" kind of lifestyle which is the norm in their kind of upbringing.

"We had that a few years ago, so suddenly hitting the road with all these people that have been doing it for years was quite a shock to the system and pretty interesting," he said.

The band are currently working on the follow-up to their second album SUPERABUNDANCE.
