THE WHO - THE WHO STARS HONOURED

THE WHO stars ROGER DALTREY and PETE TOWNSHEND received an Outstanding Achievement award after wowing rock fans for 40 years.
The British TV arts programme South Bank Show award ceremony honoured the MY GENERATION pair yesterday (23JAN07) for their place in history as pioneers of rock.
Other winners included AMY WINEHOUSE, who saw off stiff competition from the ARCTIC MONKEYS and JARVIS COCKER to win Best Pop act, UNITED 93 for Best Film and BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN who beat RICKY GERVIAS' TV show EXTRAS to the Best Comedy award.
