THE SCRIPT STAR'S CHRISTMAS GIFT GIG FOR SICK KIDS
Irish rockers THE SCRIPT frontman DANNY O'DONOGUE decided against a indulgence-filled Christmas last month (Dec08) - he spent the special day performing for sick children.
The singer, who scored a number one U.K. album last year (08), felt compelled to ignore the usual Christmas day extravagances in favour of entertaining ill kids at a hospital in his native Dublin.
And the star insists the reaction he received made it a day to remember.
He tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "Right before Christmas our drummer and I hooked up with Childline (British charity) to give out presents at Temple Street hospital to sick children. We were so moved that I thought, 'Wouldn't it be even better to go on Christmas Day?'
"I decided to go down to Our Lady's at 11am on Christmas morning and did an impromptu performance.
"It was so touching to see the look on their faces. I wanted to give what I thought was the most important thing - time."
