Veteran rockers THE POLICE are to disband later this year (08) after one more tour of the U.S. The British trio, who originally split in the mid-1980s, reunited in 2007 for an extensive world tour which grossed more than $210 million (GBP105 million) - more than any other act that year (07). But the group - comprising of Sting on vocals, Stewart Copeland on drums and guitarist Andy Summers - have no plans to make their reformation long-term, with the axeman this week admitting they would not be recording any more new material. And according to sources close to the band, The Police will call it quits after the curtain falls on their final show in July (08), reports Rolling Stone magazine.
