THE KILLERS - THE KILLERS + ARCTIC MONKEYS LEAD Q AWARD NOMINATIONS

THE KILLERS and the ARCTIC MONKEYS lead the nominations for this year's (07) Q magazine music awards. The bands have been nominated for three awards each, and will go head to head in the Best Act in the World category. Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse picked up a nomination for Best Album (Back To Black), alongside Kaiser Chiefs, (Yours Truly, Angry Mob), Arcade Fire (Neon Bible), Manic Street Preachers (Send Away The Tigers) and Arctic Monkeys (Favourite Worst Nightmare). And Smile singer Lily Allen also featured in the nominations list, picking up a nod for Best Video for her track Alfie. The nominations were announced at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday night (12Sep07). The awards will be handed out on 8 October (07).
