HAPPY DAYS - THE FONZ TO BE IMMORTALISED IN MILWAUKEE
A statue of HAPPY DAYS character ARTHUR 'FONZIE' FONZARELLI is to be erected in his `hometown' of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The bronze likeness will go up in the city - where the 1970s show was set - thanks to $84,000 (GBP42,000) in donations raised by residents and fans of the long running U.S. TV sitcom. Henry Winkler, who played the leather-clad lady-killer, describes the Bronze the Fonz project as a "phenomenal compliment". He says, "It's not often you have a dream when you're seven, lying in your bed, (and) you get to live your dream out and then someone is going to erect a life-size statue of your creation."
