INTERPOL - THE ENEMY SCORE NUMBER ONE ALBUM

The Enemy have stormed to the top of the UK album charts with their debut effort We'll Live and Die In These Towns.

The Coventry band saw off tough competition from New York band Interpol, who took second place with Our Love to Admire.

Smashing Pumpkins debuted at number four with their comeback album Zeitgeist, knocking Chemical Brothers down to number five.

Meanwhile in the singles chart Rihanna has stayed at number one with her track Umbrella for a ninth week.

The 19-year-old continued to dominate the charts ahead of Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry.

Kate Nash, who took the number two spot last week, held on at number three with the catchy Foundations.

Arctic Monkeys were the biggest climber of the week, with Fluorescent Adolescent moving up to fifth place thanks to its physical release.

The Sheffield band have already scored a number one album this year with their second LP Favourite Worst Nightmare.
