THE EDITORS GIG CUT SHORT BY ARMED POLICE
British band THE EDITORS' gig in Germany last night (13Jun07) was cut short after armed police stormed the venue demanding they stopped playing.
The rising guitar stars were performing an encore at the Kulturkirche venue in Cologne, when armed officers stormed the stage "due to them being excessively loud".
Bassist Russell Leetch says, "The venue was an old church over the road from a load of houses and, during our set, they called the police to complain about the noise.
"The first we knew about it was when the police turned up just as we were starting our encore and told our tour manager to stop the set.
"Our tour manager bravely stalled them long enough for us to play Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors but we had to finish before doing Fingers In The Factories.
"We owe Cologne a song and we promise to make it up to them next time as long as they don't set the law on us again!"
