British animated characters WALLACE + GROMIT have scored a British Academy Of Film And Television Arts (BAFTA) double, after their THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT won Best Film at the Children's BAFTAs last night (26NOV06). The movie, which was named Best British Film at the main BAFTAs earlier this year (06), beat out competition from THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE, and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST at the London Hilton ceremony. NICK PARK, the creator of Wallace + Gromit, said, "I know it's kind of a cliché but I just make films for myself, you know, and the whole team. Writing it, we just kind of make things, whatever makes us laugh goes into them." Elsewhere, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire won the BAFTA Kids' Vote, after 100,000 children selected their favourite film.
