Maverick moviemaker QUENTIN TARANTINO discovered BOB DYLAN packs a punch when he agreed to step into the boxing ring with the rock legend. The director has been a member of Dylan's secret Los Angeles boxing gym, where stars like WILL SMITH and GINA GERSHON fight, for some time, and when the LAY LADY LAY singer hit town, Tarantino thought it would be fun to challenge him to a few rounds. He says, "He wanted to play hard... (and) he nailed me with a really good one (punch). We were sparring together, and he got one in there when I wasn't paying attention. "I think it was a right jab. I let my guard down for a minute, and he just thumped it in... It was a good punch."
