MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA - TAGAWA ORDERED TO PAY UP IN DOMESTIC ABUSE CASE

MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA star CARY-HIROYUKI TAGAWA has been ordered to hand over $1,000 (GBP500) to a domestic violence support group after pleading guilty to an attack on his ex-girlfriend.
The actor appeared at the Family Court in Hawaii on Monday (28Jul08) where he confessed to the misdemeanour.
The charge relates to a November 2007 incident in which police were called to the Hawaii-based star's Waikiki, Honolulu home after receiving reports of a dispute.
Upon arriving at the scene, the authorities noticed the actor's girlfriend had bruises on her legs.
As part of his sentence, Tagawa must donate the cash to a non-profit organisation that helps support domestic abuse victims and write a letter of apology to his ex.
