SYSTEM OF A DOWN STAR CAUGHT UP IN MASTODON FIGHT

LATEST: SYSTEM OF A DOWN star SHAVO ODADJIAN has been listed as a witness to the fight that landed MASTODON star BRENT HINDS in a Las Vegas hospital with brain haemorrhaging and a broken nose. Initial reports suggested Hinds had been beaten up while crowdsurfing during a performance in the Foo Fighters' hotel suite after the MTV Video Music Awards on 9 September (07). But new police reports indicate Odadjian and musician William Hudson were involved in an altercation with the singer immediately before he was taken to hospital. According to the police report, which is based on first-hand accounts and hotel-security video footage, Hinds attacked Odadjian outside the Mandalay Bay resort, prompting the rocker and his pal Hudson to retaliate. According to the Las Vegas Weekly newspaper, an unidentified friend of Hinds then rushed to the singer's aid and apologised to Odadjian and Hudson, explaining the Mastodon star was "just drunk." Police were called to the scene and both Odadjian and Hudson were questioned. No charges have been filed but Hudson has been listed as a "suspect," and is facing a possible charge of "battery with substantial bodily harm."
