SUPER FURRY ANIMALS - SUPER FURRY ANIMALS TO RELEASE INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS are to record an instrumental album using the BBC orchestra.
The band's previous album HEY VENUS! Reached number two in the indie chart, but frontman Gruff Rhys said the new record will be something of a departure.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, he said: "Weve been working on an instrumental record for almost 2 years now. So were ploughing ahead with that and weve got 24 hours of recorded music. Its a case of editing it down and getting it to under an hour or some palatable size."
However, he assured fans of the band that the new material will retain some of their trademark sound.
"I think in the Super Furry Animals we were always into melody, except this time we can mess about with the texture if we haven't got any lyrics to get in the way," he added.
Elsewhere, it was recently reported that Gruff Rhys has been collaborating on the second album from SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO.
