MADNESS - SUGGS TO JOIN CHARITY BUSK

MADNESS frontman Suggs is among the names taking apart in a nationwide busking event which will raise money for Cancer Research UK.

He will be joined by Scottish singer Sandi Thom at the Busking Cancer event, which runs the 6th to 13th September and will feature street performers from all over the UK.

"Playing music is such a joyful thing - it's the soundtrack to our lives," said Suggs.

"To do it to help anyone whose life has been touched by cancer is fantastic."

Thom, who had a hit with her song I wish I Was A Punk Rocker, added: "Busking Cancer is fun, young and positive."

Organiser Mark Warrick said: "The launch last year was a storming success, so this year we are making it a nationwide event."

Suggs, who has numerous hits with MADNESS in their heyday, was recently seen in the British film THE EDGE OF LOVE.
