OLIVER STONE - STONE WENT OUTSIDE THE U.S. FOR BUSH MOVIE SPONSORS

Filmmaker OLIVER STONE turned to investors in China, Germany and Australia to finance his forthcoming movie W, about U.S. president GEORGE W. BUSH.
The director, a Democrat supporter, insisted on turning to oversees financiers to sponsor the project - fearing American firms would demand he compromise his ideas for the controversial film about the Republican politician's rise to power, according to New York gossip column PageSix.
Producer Bill Block says, "We put together an international consortium of distributor-investors who, like us, were determined to back Oliver's vision and see it executed without interference."
Stone recently told the May (08) issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine, "All these media companies are chicken s**t. They're all part of conglomerates."
The film is set to hit cinemas in October (08) - just before the November (08) general election to find Bush's successor.
