KIMBERLY STEWART - STEWART HONOURED BY FATHER'S TIRADE

KIMBERLY STEWART felt proud when her rocker father ROD defended her honour at an awards ceremony. The Maggie May hitmaker was attending the GQ awards last year when British comedian Russell Brand hinted he had embarked on a sexual relationship with Kimberley. Rod immediately blasted Brand in front of a packed audience, saying "It's not right. I am speaking here as a father". The model insists Brand was joking, but felt "honoured" because her father had defended her for the first time. She says, "(Rod) called me afterwards and told me what had happened and I said 'You're lying' because he's not very confrontational. And in front of all those people. "The truth is, nothing did happen, Russell was just taking the p**s, but if you don't know him or his humour, you don't understand. But Dad is very much a gentleman. He doesn't kiss and tell and make things up. I was honoured that he did that."
