ANNA NICOLE SMITH - STERN GIVEN THE CHANCE TO APPEAL DNA TEST RESULTS

ANNA NICOLE SMITH's longtime companion/lawyer HOWARD K. STERN has been given time to appeal a DNA test, conducted to identify the biological father of the tragic model's baby daughter. Stern is listed as the father on little DANNIELYNN's birth certificate but photographer LARRY BIRKHEAD, Smith's ex-boyfriend, claims he's the six-month-old girl's real dad. Little Dannielynn was swabbed for a DNA sample earlier this week (20MAR07) after a judge in the Bahamas, where the tot was born, ordered Stern to submit the baby for the test. Sources claim the DNA test results are now available but there is a gag order in effect that will keep the identity of the father confidential until at least 3 April (07), when the next meeting in the ongoing paternity case is scheduled. The biological father is expected to win custody of the little girl.
