ANNA NICOLE SMITH's partner/attorney HOWARD K. STERN returned to the Bahamas in tears on Saturday (10FEB07) to hug the baby who will grow up without a mother. Stern was holidaying with Smith in Florida when she died in mysterious circumstances on Thursday (08FEB07). The grief-stricken lawyer flew back to the Bahamas, where he has been living with Anna Nicole since last summer (06), taking a TV crew from US news show ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT with him. Stern was forced to leave the remains of his girlfriend behind - medical examiners in Florida have been told to keep the corpse preserved until a DNA test to determine the paternity of baby DANNIELYNN is conducted on 20 February (07). And, amid the tears he shed on the plane trip to the Bahamas, Stern insisted he felt the need to be with the baby he claims is his biological daughter - to keep his late girlfriend's estranged mother from seeking custody of the child. He said, "As long as I have a breath in my body, that woman will not see Dannielynn." Smith's mother, VIRGIE ARTHUR, arrived in the Bahamas with family members on Friday (09FEB07) keen to make sure her granddaughter was being well taken care off. But angry Stern, hissed, "She has no right. She can't take my baby. She can't take Anna's baby." The TV interview with Stern, which will air on Entertainment Tonight on Monday (12FEB07), will also feature the lawyer's tearful reunion with Dannielynn. He said, "I had to get back to Dannielynn. I held her in my arms and couldn't believe her mom is gone. I know Anna loved her more than anything in the world."
