IMELDA STAUNTON - STAUNTON SHOCKED TO BE OFFERED UGLY POTTER ROLE

Actress IMELDA STAUNTON was stunned to be offered the role as DOLORES UMBRIDGE in the latest HARRY POTTER film, because she had always thought the character was "short" and "ugly". Umbridge is Harry Potter's first female nemesis and will be seen in the forthcoming blockbuster movie HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, but Oscar nominated actress Staunton wasn't amused when she was asked to do the part. She explains, "I read the book, and Umbridge is described as a short, ugly, toadlike woman. I thought, 'Oh, thanks very much.'"
