ADRIENNE SHELLY - STARS PAY TRIBUTE TO SHELLY AT SUNDANCE SCREENING

Family, friends and fans of murdered actress ADRIENNE SHELLY paid tribute to the late star last night (21JAN07) when her movie WAITRESS debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. The American star was found hanging from a shower rod in her New York City apartment last November (06). A construction worker has since been charged with her death. After yesterday's emotional screening Shelly's widower ANDREW OSTOY hailed her enthusiasm for filmmaking, telling the New York Daily News, "Adrienne always had a tremendous passion as a filmmaker. She lived for her art." The film's producer MICHAEL ROIFF added, "This is one of the worst things I have ever experienced that she isn't here right now, but I know how proud she would be to see all these people here watching the film." Waitress, which Shelley wrote, directed and starred in, was selected for the festival just days before her death. It charts the story of a poor, pregnant waitress - played by KERI RUSSELL - who has an affair with her doctor to escape an abusive husband.
