Hollywood stars have paid tribute to the actor and comedian Bernie Mac was died on Saturday aged 50.

Mac died from complications due to pneumonia after being admitted to a Chicago hospital earlier in the week.

Since his death was announced yesterday, tributes have been pouring in for the Transformer actor.

Ocean's 11 co-stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt both said the comedian would be greatly missed.

"The world just got a little less funny. He will be missed dearly," Clooney said.

While, Pitt declared: "I lament the loss of a ferociously funny and hardcore family man. My thoughts are with Rhonda and their family. Bernie Mac, you are already missed."

The 50-year-olc comic was next set to be seen in Soul Men, released in November, alongside Samuel L. Jackson.

The Pulp Fiction star added his condolences to Mac's family.

"It goes without saying that Bernie was one of the preeminent comedians of our generation," Jackson said.

"He was also an attentive husband, a great father and loving grandfather. I feel blessed to have shared years of friendship with Bernie Mac, and I'm honored to have finally co-starred with him in what I consider to be his finest cinematic acting achievement.

"My sincere prayer is that his family will be comforted by the warmth of love from all of us who knew and respected this man."
