DIRTY DANCING - STAR WARS TOPS FILM POLL
British film fans like nothing better than sitting down for an evening with Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi, a poll suggests.
A new survey from Sky Movies found that 50 per cent of respondents had watched the films at least 20 times.
The double-trilogy topped the men's poll and came second in the women's equivalent behind Dirty Dancing.
It seems for the female of the species the beeps and whistles from R2D2 are no competition to the slick dance moves of Patrick Swayze.
Aliens and Terminator came second and third respectively in the men's survey, while Grease was third in the female poll.
"It's great to see these classic films are watched time and time again - its takes a very special kind of movie," Louis Savy, director of film festival Sci-Fi London, commented.
The poll follows the opening of Star Wars: The Exhibition, a featured attraction at London's County Hall boasting props, costumes and models from the original films.
