ROCKY - STALLONE STUCK AT AUSTRALIAN CUSTOMS

Rocky star Sylvester Stallone has been released by Australian customs officials after being detained for several hours.

The 60-year-old was held ay Sydney airport when banned products were confiscated from both his and his entourage's luggage.

Australian customs chief Richard Janeczko told Network Ten: "As a result of having their luggage x-rayed, a number of prohibited items were seized by customs.

"Mr Stallone was allowed to continue with his party and our investigations are continuing."

According to the Australian network Stallone signed autographs with fans who had waited for him outside the airport, despite only being freed at midnight local time after a flight from Los Angeles.

When asked whether there had been a delay at customs his answer was simply "yeah".

Stallone also insisted that customs officials were "doing a great job", downplaying the incident as a "misunderstanding".

The actor went on to attend the Australian premier of Rocky Balboa, the sixth and probably final in the long-running and much-loved series.

After winning Oscars with the first Rocky film, Stallone and the subsequent four films were largely panned by critics.

But the veteran Hollywood star has received positive reviews for returning the series to its roots with his latest effort.
