Leona Lewis' debut album has gone straight to the top of the album charts, while her Bleeding Love single stays number one.

The X Factor winner beat off stiff competition in the album stakes with Spirit as this week's top ten was flooded with six new entries.

The Spice Girls' Greatest Hits was new at two, outselling last week's number one from Westlife.

Led Zeppelin's Mothership entered at four and Celine Dion was new at five with Taking Chances.

The Killers' Sawdust clocked in at seven while Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli's Vivere – Best Of was straight in at eight.

In the singles charts Lewis made it a month at number one with Bleeding Love.

Take That's Rule The World and Timbaland's Apologize were also unchanged at two and three respectively.

It was Kylie Mingoue's comeback single, 2 Hearts, which topped the highest new entry list at number four.

Bloc Party's non-album single Flux and Runrig's Loch Lomond were the only other newcomers to the singles top ten.
