SPIDERS STAR CARBO DEAD AT 82
Fifties hitmaker CHUCK CARBO has died in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was 82.
The former Spiders frontman had been battling illness for many years before he passed away on 11 July (08).
Carbo began his career singing in gospel group the Zion City Harmonizers with his brother Chick before forming the Spiders.
The group enjoyed chart success with hits like Witchcraft, I Didn't Want to Do It, You're the One and Tears Began to Flow, and they toured with the likes of Ray Charles and Sam Cooke, before splitting in the late 1950s.
Carbo enjoyed a mini career rebirth in the early 1990s when his Meet Me With Your Black Drawers On song became a huge hit in his native Louisiana.
