Former BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 star TORI SPELLING and her new husband DEAN MCDERMOTT got the idea to open a guest house after falling in love while staying in a quaint bed and breakfast in Ottawa, Canada. The couple were shooting TV movie MIND OVER MURDER when producers offered them rooms at a B+B close to the set - and they both fell in love with each other and the idea of running an inn there. Spelling says, "They offered to put us up at a B+B, as opposed to our fancy Four Seasons hotel, because it was closer to the set. "I had never stayed in a B+B and Dean hadn't either. So I had some trepidations because my make-up artist at the time, was like, 'Oh, B+Bs are just creepy and they're old.' "I was like, 'Let's stay.' And, indeed, it was old and musty and full of people's old, used things - decrepit teddy bears with eyes hanging out. "But B+Bs were good for Dean and me because we conceived our baby in Ottawa, obviously. But we came away with the idea that we would like to reinvent the B+B, and kind of reinvent it for our generation." Spelling and MCDermott's guest house efforts will feature in an upcoming reality TV series, and MCDermott has lofty plans for the project. He adds, "We can accommodate four couples in this place, but we hope it obviously does well because we want to brand it and branch it out. We want a whole chain of these things."
