SPEARS TURNED TO SIMPSON'S COLOURIST FOR MAKEOVER

Pop star BRITNEY SPEARS turned to JESSICA SIMPSON's hair colourist to help her create her sexy new look. Despite reports that Spears had donned a hairpiece for her LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN appearance on 6 November (06), the star's new hairdo was the work of celebrity colourist RITA HAZAN. Hazan explains, "It took me more than five hours to fine-tune her colour - it's now a golden blonde with platinum highlights." After getting new colour, Spears also got a new cut from NELSON VERCHER, the head stylist at Hazan's New York City salon. He says, "Britney knew she wanted to do something based on a bob shape, but I wanted to give her a look that was all her own." Hazan, whose clients include Simpson, JENNIFER LOPEZ and AVRIL LAVIGNE, insists Spears wasn't nervous while undergoing her transformation. She adds, "She was very trusting. She didn't have a mirror in front of her, but she stayed calm and patient the entire time."
