BRITNEY SPEARS - SPEARS TO FIGHT HIGH LEGAL BILLS

BRITNEY SPEARS' father JAMIE is furious at the amount of legal fees his daughter's custody fight with ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE has garnered - and is planning to contest the $1.1 million (GBP550,000) invoice at a court hearing next week (begs10Mar08). Jamie Spears was appointed conservator of the pop star's legal and financial affairs in February (08) and is in charge of her estate - with court-appointed observer Andrew Wallet - until 31 July (08), after he was granted an extension on Wednesday (05Mar08). But Jamie is reportedly disputing the high attorneys' fees he has been billed for - $500,000 (GBP250,000) from Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, and more than $600,000 (GBP300,000) from Britney's representatives Trope and Trope - for work carried out in the last five months, from October (07) to February (08). According to TMZ.com, Jamie has filed documents with Los Angeles Superior Court to challenge the invoice and a hearing is set to take place on Monday (10Mar08) - on the same day Spears is due to face her ex in a child custody/visitation case.

I think that both Kevin and Mark Vincent are both despicable. I have written them
before regarding this same subject. Does Mark Vincent think that everytime that he
and Kevin decide to take Brittany to court, Brittany should pay for it. I personally
don't think Kevin should get any money from her. He should get a real job!!!!!!!since
he never had one. I think that Mark Vincent is a cold hearted, money hungry individual
who thinks that he can do whatever he wants, and won't be questioned. I completely
agree with Michael Sands for his reasons for quitting the "Federline Gang". If it wasn't
for Brittany, Kevin would still be on the street using cocaine. He made horrible
decisions, and used the judge in the interim. Kevin and his lawyer have done so many
sneaky and horrible things, and in my opinion, the judge doesn't like her. Brittany
should have been allowed to see her children, no matter what the circumstances were.
I worked in a methadone maintenance treatment program for many years. I was one counselor
amongst many. If a patient had an ACS case (that is what children's services are
called in the Bronx) and the children were temporarily removed, the parents would
see the children once a week usually in the agency involved. I never heard of a mother
not seeing their children weekly, especially the ages of those beautiful and precious
boys. At those ages, they forget very easily. THE CHILDREN GOT HURT IN THIS!!!!!!!!
