BRITNEY SPEARS - SPEARS 'ALMOST EVICTED AFTER DEFAULTING ON RENT'

Troubled singer BRITNEY SPEARS was nearly evicted from her Malibu, California home last month (Feb08), after falling two weeks behind on paying her rent. Spears, who is currently fighting her ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody of their two children, reportedly failed to pay her $35,000 (GBP17,500) rent and a $2,100 (GBP1,050) late charge. Spears' landlord issued a letter dated 14 February (08) to the official lessee, Love Shack Trust, warning the pop superstar to pay her rent or "surrender and deliver up possession of said premises", according to TMZ.com. The website claims Spears is now up-to-date with her rental payments.
