KEVIN SPACEY - SPACEY AND DENCH HONOURED FOR STAGE ROLES

Hollywood star-turned-theatre director KEVIN SPACEY has seen his commitment to London's West End recognised after being named the Best Stage Actor at the Theatregoers' Choice Awards for the second year running.
The Old Vic's artistic director was honoured for his performance in EUGENE O'NEILL's A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN, while DAME JUDI DENCH was named Best Actress for her role in NOEL COWARD's HAY FEVER.
Dench says, "(I am) delighted to win this award, particularly as it's given by theatregoers. (The audience) is, after all, who we do it for."
Spacey, who won last year (06) for his role as WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE's RICHARD II, admits it's "very gratifying" to be named Best Actor for the second time.
TIM CURRY, PATRICK STEWART and PATRICK SWAYZE were also rewarded for their stage roles in the poll of 12,000 theatregoers on website Whatsonstage.com.
