VELVET REVOLVER - SORUM PLANS CHARITY GIG IN KENYA
VELVET REVOLVER star MATT SORUM has formed an all-star supergroup to perform at a landmark concert in Kenya.
The one-time Guns N' Roses and The Cult drummer will team up with top session musicians, who have worked with the likes of Mick Jagger, Rod Stewart, James Brown and Tina Turner, for an upcoming charity event in Africa.
The unnamed act will perform at Kenya's Biggest Charity Race event at the Ngong Racecourse on 6 July (08).
Sorum says, "Playing music has been a gift in my life and has allowed me to visit many different places around the world. But this is an experience that I am truly honoured to be a part of.
"I feel at this time in my life I want to give back and help people in need... I hope that our trip will bring some smiles and happiness to this beautiful country and its people."
As well as performing, Sorum and his bandmates will also visit the Kibera Slums in an effort to provide hope and inspiration to young, poverty-stricken musicians there.

Sorry to bother everyone but i just wanted to link a vid of my performance...even
though this is not a gnr/vr/stp song it still shows my ability to perform and be
a frontman and would love the opportunity to front this amazing band...i have done
a ton of cover bands from acoustic to hard rock and beyond covering these bands...I
have tried out for Fuel,Rockstar Supernova, Alice in Chains and was on MTV with Korn
Spankin New Music as well... www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1NEtPpKbKk
pay no attention to thinking that this is the only voice i can do...i can mimic many
singers and have my own sound too!
