Snow Patrol have walked away with four awards at the 2007 Meteor Ireland Music Awards.

The group picked up Best Irish Band, Best Irish Album for Eyes Open, Most Downloaded Song and Best Live Performance for their show at Marlay Park last summer.

While the Northern Irish band were the big winners on the night, perennial favourites Westlife were also among the awards.

The four-piece, who boast an incredible 14 UK number ones, were named as Best Irish Pop Act for the seventh year in a row, to add to an already crowded mantelpiece.

Damien Dempsey was named Best Irish Male for the second year in a row, while Luan Parle was voted the Best Irish Female.

Veteran band Clannad, in their 35th year as a group, were also honoured at the awards, being presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award after sales of ten million albums worldwide.

Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake picked up Best International Male and London newcomer Lily Allen was named Best International Female.

The ceremony, now in its seventh year, featured performances from Pussycat Dolls, Kaiser Chiefs, Amy Winehouse and a performance by Westlife with Ronan Keating.
