JENNIFER LOPEZ - SINGER JENNIFER LOPEZ GIVES BIRTH TO TWINS IN NEW YORK

Jennifer Lopez has given birth to twins at a hospital in New York, her first children with husband Marc Anthony.

People magazine claims that her manager confirmed the birth, saying the couple are now the proud parents of a baby boy and girl.

They were born at 00:12 local time (05:12 GMT) in Long Island. The girl is said to be 5lbs, 7oz and the boy is 6lbs.

"Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon," her manager Simon Fields told People.

The twins are Lopez's first children and Anthony's fourth and fifth.

Last year reports claimed that the couple had been trying for a baby for a number of years and had undergone in vitro fertilisation (IVF) to help them.

Friends of the couple reportedly told a number of magazines that becoming a mother was Lopez's dream and that she would be a wonderful parent.

The pregnancy was announced after months of speculation in November at a concert in Miami when Lopez told the crowd: "Marc and I are expecting a baby!"
