FRANK SINATRA's son has launched a nationwide search in Brazil to find the boy the late RAT PACK star sponsored in the 1980s.
Frank Sinatra Jr. wants to invite the now grown up male identified as Carlos Henrique dos Santos to his concert in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday (07Aug08), and has taken out a full-page advert in local newspaper Rio O Dia to aid the search.
The My Way crooner met dos Santos in 1980 when he played his own gig in the Brazilian city, after he asked to see the child he had been sponsoring for $19 (GBP9.50) a month via a charity that helped kids in underdeveloped countries.
The youngster sent Sinatra Sr. frequent letters, telling of his everyday life and his dream to one day own a bicycle.
The legendary entertainer noted dos Santos' wish and presented him with a bike when they finally met.
But the pair lost touch and Sinatra Sr. died in 1998.
However, Sinatra Jr. wants to make it up to dos Santos, who he said would be "around 40", and invite him to join the singer on his current Brazilian tour.
