ASHLEE SIMPSON - SIMPSON 'EMBARRASSED' BY ROBERT SMITH RUMOUR

ASHLEE SIMPSON was horrified when reports spread suggesting THE CURE star was working with her on her new album - because she didn't want her goth-rock hero to think she'd started the rumour. The pop star, 22, admits she was "embarrassed" when she first heard the false rumour, and is now keen to make sure everyone knows it wasn't true. She says, "That was never true. I was like, 'Oh my God, that is so not true and so embarrassing.' I am a huge fan, but would never expect to write with Robert Smith from the Cure. "I mean, that would be a dream, but nothing that I would ever say. I was dying when I read that. I was like, 'No! He's gonna think I'm crazy.'"
