JESSICA SIMPSON - SIMPSON AND LACHEY HAVE AWKWARD REUNION

JESSICA SIMPSON and ex-husband NICK LACHEY had an awkward run-in at a Hollywood hot spot Friday (14JUL06), where Lachey was partying with his new girlfriend, VANESSA MINNILLO. The DUKES OF HAZZARD star found herself partying with hairstylist KEN PAVES at celebrity club HYDE - at the exact same time as Lachey and his new girlfriend. A source tells Hollywood gossip columnist PEREZ HILTON, "Nick walked over to Jessica's table, gave her a hug and said hello to her and Ken Paves. "It wasn't the most comfortable situation, but it was totally civil and everyone was cool and Jessica was nice." Minnillo stayed behind at Lachey's table while he said hello to his ex-wife. Simpson is scheduled to debut the video for her new single A PUBLIC AFFAIR on MTV's TRL Wednesday (19JUL06), which is normally hosted by Minnillo, but sources say producers have made sure Minnillo is not hosting that day to avoid another awkward situation.
