SHREK - SHREK COMING TO BROADWAY

Movie giant SHREK is to be re-invented on the Broadway stage in a new musical. The hit 2001 animated film, which spawned two successful sequels, has been turned into stage extravaganza and will debut in Seattle, Washington, on 14 August (08) before moving to New York's famed theatreland in November (08). The show's director, Jason Moore, insists the stage version will be more than just be a re-telling of the first film. He tells celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, "It's the plot of the first Shrek movie. But because we are going deeper into the emotional lives and back stories of the characters, we reveal things about them that none of the movies revealed."
