ABC - SHOW'S RATINGS DOWN -- BUT FAR FROM DESPERATE

ABC's Desperate Housewives may no longer command the blockbuster ratings that it once did, but a new episode on Sunday nevertheless drew the biggest ratings of the night, an 11.7 rating and a 17 share during the 9:00 p.m. hour. The network also scored strongly an hour earlier with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which recorded an 8.6/13. The two shows helped give ABC a Sunday-night win as it posted an average 8.5/13 for the night to edge out CBS's 8.1/13. The now-football-less NBC was left far behind in third place with a 4.8/8. Although it moved its game show Deal or No Deal into the 9:00 p.m. hour -- pulling a 6.8/10, its highest ratings of the night -- other duds weighted down the network's overall marks, including a 4.2/6 for Grease: You're the One That I Want and a 4.5/7 for The Apprentice 6, which moved into the 10:00 p.m. hour.
