SHANNEN DOHERTY - SHANNEN DOHERTY TO REPRISE BEVERLY HILLS 90210 ROLE

Actress Shannen Doherty, who shot to fame with her role in Beverly Hills 90210, is set to reprise her role in the popular 90s show.

Doherty has agreed to play Brenda Walsh again in the show's spin-off which will hit the US airwaves this September.

Fellow former cast members Tori Spelling, who played Donna Martin, and Jennie Garth, who played Kelly Taylor, have also agreed to appear on the new show.

People magazine has cited the actresses' representative as saying: "Shannen is looking forward to returning to 90210."

In the new series, Doherty is set to return to her school after a successful career in theatre in order to direct the school's musical production.

Jennie Garth, who has been involved in altercations with Doherty in the past, will be playing the role of a counsellor at the high school.

The show which followed the love lives of teenagers in one of the wealthiest parts of American ran for ten seasons from 1990 to 2000.
